"The subject of our
show is Pregnancy. It's an amazing
world you're headed into if you're pregnant
right now. Everything has already
changed for you just by nature of the fact
that there's somebody else growing inside
of you. You're completely consumed by it.
The Sound of Music is
on TV. You love that movie, but you have never loved
it like you love it NOW, as Julie Andrews runs through the mountain meadow
and the hills are alive! OH YES THEY ARE!! And you know, better than
ANYONE in the WORLD, let alone the room, how alive the hills are with the
sound of music,
how perfect the moment is, how excrutiating the love the struggle the whole
shebang and you are sobbing relentlessly. You may be watching with a
friend or relative. They may love the movie too. They may think the
music is nice and the scene is gorgeous, they may have seen it like four
times in
their life,
but their body is not racked with sobs like yours is. You know
why? Because THEY are just in their regular old bodies. They're not
PREGNANT!
You may be in a grocery store
line and you have to wait for a while.
What is WRONG with all you people? This
store is so UGLY! The
world is totally unacceptable for me and for my baby... NOTHING
is right. The
itch, the impatience, the absolute teeth clenching irritation of it all.
GET ME OUTTA HERE. Woe unto the woman or man who has to live with
the pregnant woman through her low low lows. Sorrowful expression. Tiredness.
Crankiness. Sadder than all the sad people in this whole sad world...."

Pregnancy.org
This site feels right to me. I checked
into their mission statement and I looked
around a little. It was created by parents, for parents. The advice
seems sound and I was intrigued by lots of the articles and categories. Check

5) credits and parting words: Nanci Olesen
"I'm giving you a pregnant high five,
Mama. It's a time to care for yourself
and learn to make really hard decisions
about how you want things
to go. It's a time to get bruised by the public as the public tries to let
you know how YOU should be handling YOUR pregnancy. It's a
time to feel introspective and helpless and very powerful. I wish you
all well. If
you're not pregnant, be kind to your pregnant friends. Give
space. Hold tight. Let go...."
