Lift your face to the sun
by Emily Youngdahl Wright
Lift your face to the sun, child.
Drink it in.
This is your day.
Loving arms, full of
hope, pushed you up, carried you here.
Mothers,
fathers, aunts, uncles, friends.
The circle
is wide.
Wider than your arms.
Wider than the sky.
Open yourself.
Open your arms.
Believe.
Love.
Hope.
Trust.
Open.
